1933 FULL SIVER MOUNTED ROBERTSON'S

Post  Peebrah on Mon 24 Aug 2009, 4:59 pm

I bought them from Jimmy McIntosh in 1987 for $5000. They are in exceptional condition. No defects. One of a kind set. Includes original Robertson chanter. Sticks and stocks. $4000 USD OBO. No trades. Need cash. Moving to Mexico.

Is it an original full silver set or was it added later? I am assuming it was added.

Considering that Peebrah said he paid $ 5000 (USD?) in 1987.....I'd assume the silver was on the instrument at least at that time....

The late P/M Bob Leach (ex Shotts as well as Invergordon Distillery PB) also had a beautiful set of old silver Robertsons.

I've seen/heard quite a few old sets of Robertsons....great instruments.

If they are an original set of silver Robertsons then they are very much worth that price. I would consider buying them even though I have a set of MacDougalls I play. Robertsons are great pipes.
