FS: Sticks & Stocks
I have two sets of pipes for sale, sticks and stocks only.
1. 1960s-ish Lawries with yellow plastic mounts and nickle fittings $1500 CDN excelent tone and condition.
2. 1960s-ish Graingers with yellow plastic mounts (typical army issue) $1000 CDN excellent tone and condition.
Both sets have been oiled to prevent cracking.
Email me for more information and pics at: haggismasterman@msn.com
I can also set the pipes up for you at cost for any items requested. If you want a hide bag tied in it will be an extra $50 because it's a pain in the ass! If you want a sheepskin bag then you're out of luck, I did it once and never again... I would also prefer somone within the Greater Toronto Area for hand delivery but I will post anywhere for the cost of postage. I might add that the cost of Duty will be born by the purchaser should it be an out of country sale. Sorry I don't have any cases to go along with them but I will send them in a well padded fancy cardboard box!
PayPal preferred but a certified cheque or money order will do and the pipes won't be sent until the funds are in my account.

Those are good deals Dave!
I've purchased 4 sets of used pipes this year for students and a used deger!
I sent a standard check first, then the pipes were sent when it cleared.
Took only a week from the time the check was sent to pipes received.
I'm the one taking all the risk, but I have faith in my fellow pipers!

Re: FS: Sticks & Stocks
I relly don't want to sell either but I have a hankerin' for a set of Walsh A/D combo pipes. Maybe someone out there might be interested in a swap...? Either way they are still up for sale for anybody wanting a bit of history with a vintage set of pipes. I have no idea where these ones have been but I'm seriously good at the BS so I can work up an historic tale of valour and glory if the need should arise to promote the sale.

John :
About sending $$ away & taking a risk...perhaps give this one some thought...
Consider finding a lawyer where the fellow with the pipe is & then sending along a Money order or Bank draft for the price, payable to the fellow, but mailed to the lawyer.
Once the lawyer has the bank draft in hand (payable to the guy selling the pipes) the fellow can send you the pipes, so you can inspect them, & if they are OK, then you can call the lawyer & tell him to release the envelope to conclude the deal.
If not...then you can phone the lawyer tell him the pipes are being returned & to pls send you back the envelope.
As far as a lawyer's fee, since he's only receiving mail & then sitting on an envelope for a few days...it's unlikely he'll charge anything for doing this, in the hope of "future considerations" & referral business from the local guy.
Money is something to be careful with...just ask anyone who's been screwed out of it !!
Now OK..perhaps I'm just being "professionally paranoid"...however, given the things I've seen over the years...it's better safe than sorry !!

I'm still waiting on an item I ordered and paid for 6 months ago. I'm still hoping it will turn up after the Christmas mail rush. Never the less my husband is adamant i am not to EVER order from overseas again.

Oops I read this on another thread and offered to help too!
Maybe with a few people putting pressure on, something will get done!
I think those things ran around $160?

Good points Paul, have to admit I don't really care much about money!
I figure a person's reputation is priceless to them, why risk it for a small sum of money?
