FS:Saffron kilt / Diced hose / Laird's plaid
Hey Gang-
with the arival of my new kilt and my slimmer waist line (Man it feels great!)-I'm going to start cleaning out the closet! Up for grabs is my Saffron kilt, matching gents plaid and matching diced hose.
Sizes are-
Kilt- 42 X 24
Hose- Shoe size 10-12 / Length 15.5-16.5 inches / Calf 15-16.5 inches .....Basically an XL
Plaid is 4 X 8 foot long
Everything has been worn a few times, but I keep my gear in METICULOUS shape. The hose diamonds are reversed from each other (That means saffron color diamond tops one, green on the other-I wanted to see how that looked)

You can call it whatever you like but that "picnic blanket" looks more like a table cloth. Were these items by chance made in the land where they train people to drive a taxi in New York?

Well Redneck, I must say I tend to agree with you. While I love the regular saffron kilt, I really like the Royal Irish version. Its a classy look. Tommy Jackson looks great in this picture. I am also glad that the current Irish regiment carries on this tradition in shamrocked badges on their kilts.
I also like the sporran badge of the battle honour "Egypt".

Re: FS:Saffron kilt / Diced hose / Laird's plaid
The Micks do not wear a sporran because this item was not "presented" to the regiment. I also find it odd that while not wearing a sporran the Micks tunic has no pockets. Not even one of those little ones on the inside.
Its quite an Irish thing to go without a sporran as in male Irish dancers back in the day when they wore kilts, The Royal Irish Fusiliers, The early London Irish regiment pipers, the Irish Defence Force pipers in #1 dress etc etc.
As far as "keeping things in check" goes, maybe there is not much there....Now I am just kidding. I don't want any ex or current micks to come looking for me.

Maybe they use the old geriatric nurses method....whack it on the head with a silver spoon.
